So we all saw Sunday when a lot of snow on an old roof can do! Leaking in front of the office that travels all the way down to the basement and pools in our coffee mugs!! Not a pretty sight! Also we had some leaking above the door that leads to the basement stairs from the church. There is a lot of build up on our roof from recent record snow falls and much of it had turned to ice. Now, that ice is starting to melt and it's going to start flowing like Niagra Falls once it thaws. Larry Vavrek asked after mass for help getting up on the roof to shovel the snow off so the call for volunteers has gone out. If you are young and limber and like to work hard then please let us know and we'll set you up with a shovel.
Fixing a leaky roof is not a cheap endeavour, especially not one as old as ours. The weekend of March 1st we will be having a supper to help raise funds for the repair. Please do mark your calendars and attend! We promise no one will be sent up to the roof to shovel . . . at least not that night! When we have more information about what is being planned we will surely let you know.
If you've been at mass the last couple of weeks then you've heard that there is a dynamic change coming to the Saturday Evening mass!! There is not a Charasmatic mass in the near area so Father Antony has decided that Saturday evening in Sexsmith will be the time and place for one. Tell your youth! Tell your friends! Tell your family! The traditional mass is so beautiful, here is another beautiful way to celebrate and worship Our Lord!!!
